HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I had a pawsome Christmas, full of long wintery walks, delicious treats and many adventures roaming the grounds to ensure everything is ready for the return of all my pals back to Ufton. I also spent a lot of time spent cosy next to the fire – I was a lovely and warm hotdog!
I can’t wait to welcome all my pals back to Ufton Court for the new term.
This week is a busy one with lots of Ufton Adventure children taking part in a wide range of activities – from using the three elements (the balance bridge, the lava flow activity and the tyres of Hanoi) to Archery and learning map skills.
I love the balance bridge – my pals are so clever learning how to balance it by working out how many children need to go on each end!
I can’t wait to see the Passports to Success back up and running – these are important as the children learn skills which can be taken from Ufton and applied to home environments. We want the children to use the skills in every day life:
- Raise self-esteem
- Enhance empathy skills
- Build wider friendships and understanding
- Develop tenacity
We also have a couple of History visits staying in the lovely Manor House – I cant wait to get back to banqueting as Tudors, farming as Celts and voyaging like Vikings.
I wonder what this term will bring – I hope we’ll be learning lots of new skills and taking part in lots of different activities.
