How will you be announcing your engagement?
This January at Ufton Weddings, we have been overwhelmed by the number of lovely couples we have met at our viewings who have celebrated a festive engagement and now looking for a wedding venue. With social media becoming an ever increasing way to show off your engagement and with Valentine’s day, another key date for proposals coming up we have put together some ideas to show everyone that you are now engaged!
What better way to show that you are engaged, than by showing off that gorgeous sparkly accessory which is now on your finger… and let’s be honest, this is what a lot of people would like to see! We love the good old close up picture of the ‘rock’ twisted inwards with the date of your wedding written on your palm, or a picture of your hand and the ring in the foreground, and your partner in the background! Or why not have the place of where you got engaged in the background. There are so many different ways to show off your ring though – make sure you get creative!
Save the Date
Something else to think about once you are engaged is sending your nearest and dearest a ‘save the date’ card – this might also be a fantastic way to announce your engagement, rather than posting it on social media – and again is a great way to get a little bit creative. We suggest that your save the date only has the most important information:
Both of your names
The date which needs saving!
Invitation to follow
Throw a Party!
Let’s be honest, we don’t need an excuse, but if you want one… why not throw an engagement party! This is a great way to announce the engagement and the exciting news, but in a face-to-face situation – your friends and family will be able to see how excited you are as well as you being able to see their excited faces. But if you’re having a party, make sure to invite us!
Mugs and cups
Everyone loves a Starbucks, and what a fantastic idea to ask for ‘Mr and Future Mrs’ or ‘Mr and Mrs ______’ rather than getting your own names pencilled on! This way, you can post to all your friends and family on social media, without having to let people know individually. And if you want something a little more permanent, many companies have created mugs with ‘Future Mrs’ or ‘I Said Yes’ on … you could even check out Pinterest on how to make your own!
Who said that your engagement needs to be serious!? For those of you who enjoy a little more spontaneity, why not take a silly selfie showing off your gorgeous new ring – this also adds a more personal touch to your Facebook post, and people can see how excited you are!
