Paws for thought with Murphy

Murphy glasses

The summer term is in full swing and this week I prepared for life as a World War II evacuee.

My paws were useful as we dug for victory, but filling sandbags and taping windows in preparation for an air raid were trickier.

As soon as the raid began we took cover in Ufton Court’s shelter and discovered what it would have been like for an evacuee, lanterns and all.

We also learnt about rationing during the war, even my bacon was rationed!

A lot learnt, we finished off the day with a D-Day celebration with cake and wobbly jelly. My favourite.

WWII set up

I managed to get a picture of the set up before the children arrived!

How is your summer term going?
