Ufton Cycle Sportive

Cost: £25 for 25 mile | £35 for 55 mile | £10 for accompanied children over 10/under 16 (25 mile only)

On the Day sign up: +£5 of the cost, and payment in cash only

Cycle Clubs: £10 discount for selected local cycle clubs.

Ride HQ, at Englefield Primary School, will be a perfect place for your family and supporters to base themselves during the cycle. We’ll have:

• Plenty of free parking
• Toilets
• Hot breakfast rolls and hot drinks for sale AM
• Climbing Wall from Outdoor Academy
• Victoria’s Ice Cream Cart
• Live Music from Bradfield Jazz Band
• Freshly cooked pizzas for sale PM
• Refreshments including soft and alcoholic drinks for sale

Parking: Parking will be available in a field, off of The Street, close to Englefield School. For Satnavs please use postcode RG7 5HA and look for signs as you approach your destination. Please do not park on The Street itself, as we have neighbours to consider

Travel by Train: our nearest station is Theale, which has direct trains to London Paddington, Reading and Newbury. From the station, there’s a short (and flat!) 10-15 minute cycle to Englefield School House. See the directions.

Whether taking on our 25 mile family ride or 55 mile sportive, you’ll be cycling through some of West Berkshire’s finest scenery and the North Wessex Downs. The first 12 miles of both routes travel through the villages of Bradfield and Bucklebury before splitting at Hermitage where the 25 mile route heads North East towards Yattendon and the 55 mile route heads South West towards outer-Newbury.

The Ufton Cycle Sportive is a charity cycle ride which aims to raise money for the disadvantaged children who visit Ufton Adventure. We desperately need a new woodland teaching space, particularly in the evenings and during wet weather. Costing £790,000, we have planning permission to build a Viking Longhouse in our woodlands.

The top fundraisers will win one of our fantastic prizes.

We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, all of which will be vital for the smooth running of the ride! Roles include:
