Paws for thought with Murphy
Welcome back pals.
It’s a bit of an unusual blog this week, because on Sunday we had a very exciting event happening on site which got my tail wagging from the moment I woke up.
As I plodded out of my cosy warm house into the crisp frosty Sunday morning, I could already hear the hustle and bustle of lots of different people setting up around the grounds.
Can you guess what event was happening?! … it was the day of Ufton Weddings’ wedding fayre.

Before it started I lent my paw to help out, directing exhibitors to where they needed to be. It wasn’t long either before I could smell something wonderful wafting through the barn courtyard… the caterers had started to cook some nibbles ready for all the brides and grooms to taste… I didn’t manage to sneak one, but they sure did smell yummy!
My favourite part though was helping at the refreshment stall in the stable block… there were some wonderful smells and treats in there too, but unfortunately not for dogs like me!
We also host weddings here at Ufton Court in the tithe barn with it’s dramatic ancient wooden beams. All profits from weddings are fed back into our children’s charity, allowing children the opportunity to take part in fantastic outdoor residential programmes.
My favourite part about the programmes is that my pals and I get to take part in lots of different activities learning lots of different skills – whether it be firing wet sponges at each other from a trebuchet we make as a team, or learning how to light and tend to a fire, in order to cook some bread or toast marshmallows, the possibilities are endless!
I can’t wait to see you all again soon, and as ever, if you would like to know more about Ufton, what we do as a charity, or about our history day and residential visits, please contact my friends in the office on 01189832099 or by email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
