Recently we were visited by Paul Webster and Andy More from the Rotary Club of Reading Abbey who presented us with a cheque for £2,725, being the proceeds from the Englefield 10k run.
The run was held in August on the Englefield estate, with Ufton Court Educational Trust as its nominated charity. Runners also celebrated the 10th anniversary of the popular event which is organised by The Rotary Club of Reading Abbey and the Tadley Runners.
The donation from The Rotary Club of Reading Abbey will go towards supporting Ufton Adventure. At Ufton Adventure, we work to increase social mobility through purposeful outdoor education for disadvantaged and vulnerable children.
We work in a holistic way helping children to better understand themselves and to learn how to take control of their personal well-being and develop a sense of purpose in life.
We develop children’s self-esteem, confidence, resilience and willingness to try new tasks through our expertly delivered programmes. Our overarching aims are to raise aspiration and attainment though unlocking ambition.
Ufton Adventure is a charity and relies on fundraising to continue its innovative programme. There are lots of ways you can support Ufton Adventure. You can see some suggestions here.
