Paws for thought with Murphy
“If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise…”
Today, I leapt out of my basket because ‘today’s the day the teddy bears have their picnic’.
I hurried to meet my human pals as soon as they stepped off of the bus with their teddies – I’ve never seen so many different ones! The first thing we were told to remember was PAWS (and not my feet!) We learnt that PAWS stands for:
P – Plants
A – Air
W – Water
S – Shelter
The first activity we did was a game of ‘Teddy Bear Tag’, which reminds me…
How do you start a teddy bear race? Teddy, Set, Go!
We then had lots of fun finding the paw prints from Edward the chief Ufton bear, on our trail through the woods – it was pawsome!
After sharing some sandwiches with my pals and their teddies – there was a lot of sticky honey sandwiches which smelt delicious – we started our afternoon activities.
My favourite was learning how to make Bug hotels and habitats (the S from PAWS). My pals were great at stacking sticks up… although I’m not sure why they wouldn’t throw them for me to chase! I also don’t think a stick bed would be very comfortable, I’ll ‘stick’ to my nice comfy blanket!
Once we’d tested our senses by learning how to make ‘Smelly cocktails’ from different herbs in the herb garden (using the P from PAWS), it was time to go home… what a busy day the teddy bears have had today!
