Paws for thought with Murphy
We had such an exciting day at Ufton on Monday as we were hosting our first ever Christmas wreath workshops with a lovely lady called Karen from Allium Designs.
As I woke up and jumped out of my basket, I noticed that the sun was peeking through a gap in the curtains… yippee! My favourite days at Ufton are those where the sun has got his hat on.
The day started nice and early as I went out to help the lovely ladies to collect and sort out the foliage. There were all sorts of eucalyptus, moss, greenery and feathers to use. We even used some from around the grounds at Ufton!
We also had to set up the cake table… my favourite. There were all sorts of delicious cakes to try while the ladies were busy at work, from mince pies to Victoria sponge… although unfortunately I wasn’t allowed any….
Do you know who hides in the bakery at Christmas? A mince spy!!
The first people arrived at 9.30am and the day went by in a flash. The barn was a hive of activity and the smells of rosemary and all of the foliage used in the wreaths was amazing. I only had a chance to shut my eyes for two seconds before the final wreaths were shown to me. They looked amazing!!!
From everyone at Ufton, we want to say a big thank you for attending – we raised over £2,500 for our children’s charity, Ufton Adventure.
