The Big Give Christmas Challenge
One donation, twice the impact
This Christmas time, you’ll have the opportunity to make twice the difference with any donation to Ufton, thanks to matchfunding through The Big Give!
Beginning on 27th November at 12pm, we’ll have just one week to fundraise as much money as possible through the Big Give. In return, we will see all donations doubled through their match-funding scheme.
Helping children at risk of exclusion…
Over 35 children are excluded from school every day.
A permanent exclusion will have an irreversible impact on a young person’s life chances: nearly 100% of all excluded children enter the world of work without basic qualifications.
The most vulnerable children are most likely to be excluded. They are four times more likely to be from the poorest families and eight out of ten of them have a special educational need or disability. One in two has a recognised mental health need. More than 50% of UK prisoners were excluded from school.
In Ufton Adventure’s REAP (Reducing Exclusion through Alternative Provision) programmes, we work closely in partnership with our participating schools and share the single objective of successfully re-integrating young people back into the classroom. Outdoor education can contribute significantly in helping young people relieve stress and anxiety, develops social skills, motivate learning across the curriculum and allow them to be practical, responsible and show their abilities. Through developing personal skills, gaining confidence and believing in their ability to succeed, Ufton Adventure is helping children at risk of exclusion to see the value of education and work towards re- integrating back into the classroom.
These programmes would not be possible without donations from our supporters and this year, your donation could make double the difference! If you donate on our Big Give fundraising page between 27th November and 4th December, anything that you give will be doubled. This means twice as many children will be able to visit us at no charge to their families.
We are extremely lucky to have been chosen to take part in this scheme. Last year we saw an incredible £5,640 in donations, meaning that we received over £13,000 in total. We’re hoping that this year will be our most successful yet.
