We are delighted to announce that Ufton has once again been awarded the Sandford Award 2019.
The Sandford Award is an independently judged, quality assured assessment of education programmes at heritage sites, museums, archives and collections across the British Isles.
This latest success is the third time we have won the coveted award, which provides a ‘kite mark’ for high quality education provision and is recognised by schools and other education institutions across the United Kingdom.
The judges said: “Students who are lucky enough to attend either a day or residential visit to Ufton Court Educational Trust will remember most of it with great pleasure for a long time. However, they may not know until years ahead just how much their pleasant visit embedded into their minds skills of problem solving, the means to frame and answer questions, to be able to interrogate not only artefacts but also other people’s ideas and to be able to use these skills with subjects other than history. In short, members of the teaching staff display quality in every aspect of providing experiences that offer knowledge, information and joy in learning.”
Fiona Craig, Managing Director at Ufton said: “I am extremely proud that we have once again won this award. The feedback from the judges confirms that the Ufton teaching team are an outstanding group of expert practitioners. Children who visit Ufton or meet our teaching team in school, benefit from our energy, enthusiasm and passion for learning. Children leave Ufton feeling enriched, knowing more about history and having developed the key personal skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.”
